• The Prime Minister is appointed by the president and other ministers are appointed by the president on the advice of the Prime Minister. [Article 75(i)].

• A person who is not a member of any house can also become a minister, but he can not continue as a minister for more than 6 months unless he secures a seat in either House of Parliament by Election or nomination in the meantime [article-75 (5)].

• If Prime Minister resigns or passes away, the entire Ministry goes automatically.

• Article- 78 envisages the duties of a prime minister in respect of furnishing information to the President.
